A house becomes a home because of the love, attention and warmth it experiences; you begin to peel away the layers that no longer serve the house only to reveal the true nature of its beauty. This was my magical home in the mountains of Altadena. The nature inspired the house and the house inspired the nature. I feel so blessed to have found this house, to have lived in it with my family and to have brought it back to life. We devoted a lot of energy and worked with love to make it what it is today. I feel very proud of our home and what we have created here and I can only hope the next owner will enjoy this magical, abundant property and tend to it in the same loving spirit our family did. And it wouldn’t be a Platform Experiment if we didn’t collaborate! I am filled with gratitude for my collaboration with Justina Blakeney, Evenfall Home, Folk Fiber Textiles, Amsterdam Modern, LIza Temple for Ginger Hale Crowell. Lovely photos by Virtually Here Studios.
